The Optimist Club of London - Oakridge Acres was chartered in 1957 and is one of eight Optimist Clubs in the city of London. Each club operates independently, but meet often to share information and partner in programs that benefit youth in London. Our club has been a vital part of the Oakridge and London community, providing activities for youth and providing financial support for a wide variety of sport, education, health and safety programs. We have a proven track record in our community and an active membership of over 50 members who have a common desire to improve the lives of youth in our community. A message from the president
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and learn more about us and what we do for our community. The Optimist Club of London – Oakridge Acres seeks to assist the community in providing programs focused on youth. We both initiate and support numerous programs that benefit the youth in our community. Our own initiatives include an oratorical contest, recognize youth volunteerism, provide school-based BBQs to help schools raise funds, send teams each month to Ronald McDonald House to prepare foods for families / residents, operate a coat drive /campaign “Koats for Kids” in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club. In addition, we fund raise allowing us to financially support existing youth programs in our community.
We invite you to become involved with our club. We welcome anyone interested to attend one of our events to see first -hand what we do, or to meet with a member to learn more. We are always looking for new members, men and women who can help us make a difference for the youth in our community. Everyone is welcome!
